Capital Prep Bronx Granted 5-Year Renewal by SUNY!

Capital Prep Bronx Granted 5-Year Renewal by SUNY

BRONX, NY – April 10, 2025 – Today, Capital Preparatory Bronx Charter School proudly announces it has been granted a five-year renewal by the State University of New York (SUNY), a significant milestone that reaffirms the school’s commitment to educational excellence and social justice.

“This achievement is a powerful reflection of the deep commitment, professionalism, and belief in our mission that lives within every member of the Capital Prep community,” said Dr. Steve Perry, Founder and Head of Schools at Capital Preparatory Schools. “Renewal is never promised. It is earned—through hard work, accountability, and an unwavering focus on delivering high-quality education to our scholars and families. I could not be prouder of the Bronx team and our entire network.”

The renewal underscores Capital Prep Bronx’s impact since opening in the middle of a global pandemic in August 2020, serving scholars with a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum centered on social justice and leadership. From classroom instruction to community engagement, the school’s progress has been marked by strong academic growth and a culture of care, purpose, and achievement.

“To the Capital Prep Bronx team, congratulations,” added Dr. Perry. “Your dedication, resilience, and leadership throughout this process have not gone unnoticed. And to those across our network who supported this work, thank you. Milestones like this are only possible through collective effort.”

As Capital Prep Bronx looks ahead, this renewal serves as both a celebration and a charge—to continue building a future where all scholars, regardless of zip code, have access to the education they deserve.
